finishes install amenu will appear asking where you wish the
bootloader installed to. the choices are listed in the menu.
make your selection and click ok.Now reboot your computer and
take the cd out, your computer will boot into myah system on the
hard drive.

now that you have myah installed you can enjoy all it's many features.
click on myah os on the task bar goto system the side menu will open
choose myah package manager.again a window will open asking whether
you wish to update, add or remove packages (software) if you click on

on my test box but it works great with my fx5500,no big deal.just thought
I would let you know before we have to start replying to problems on the forum.

Is it a problem with my package or is it that the actual driver doesn't support the older cards.

It looks like the nvidia driver version 169.21 supprts gforce 5 6 7 and 8 but gforce 4 is supported by version 93.71.

Not to much I can do about that. I could try creating a 93.71 package but I'm guessing it will not compile agains the new kernel. Since it so old. You can look into that if you like. With ATI the older cards that are not supported by the closed source drivers are suppored by opensorce 3D through mesa. To bad nvidia doesn't have the same linux support.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html

Like I said with ATI the closed source drivers handle the r300 and up. But the closed source drivers handle r300 and below. So the opensource does all old and new cards with 2D support but the r300 and below it give full 3D support kinda nice if you have an older at card. Just boot the CD and full on 3D. But for my x1950 pro I have to install fglrx for full 3D. But I get very good 3D with the radeonhd driver so I don't worry about it to much. But the radeon developers are upping that 3D to r500 and even r600 cards so that kinda kicks ass. It's all about AMD releasing all that info to the open source. Now we have 2 groups of people creating good ATI drivers and both open source. AMD is using suse to make radeonhd and the old radeon is also using that info to support all the newest cards aswell. and there is also the avivo that is dead now but also support the new cards.

it isn't a problem for me. the older card is one of my test boxes,so I will see if the older driver will compile against the new kernel, I kinda dought it,but will see after while.

You know what Myah OS really needs at this point is a real User Guide. You know some proper documentation. I mean something for people new to linux or just new to Myah OS. Let's them know the basics on what programs do what and basic configurations that may be needed for them and so on. I have been wanting to do this for awhile but have had so many other things going I haven't had a chance. But I think now is a good time for that. Maybe something like a single webpage with a table of contents at the top and links to different parts of the page like you see with many FAQ's. Have a brief description of a program what it's used for and simple configuration you may need. So if someone want's to watch a DVD the can just click on DVD section and it will take them to what programs will play DVD's and how you may need to set them up. What do you think about that?

Also I could have the Guide on the website since it would just be one long webpage with anchors to different sections. I can also put a version into the OS it's self like a help that would open firefox to a static version of it so if your not online you can still see it.

And it would also be nice to have a GUI app that would hangle things like hostname and other system settings like that.
